PATINA | PATINAFLAUGE!

If you read out story, you would be introduced to Mariah - her heart and soul is all natural patina and she rocks her Patina Bronco, Scrappy everyday!

That is one of our favorite things to do here at Hella Bad is bring to life the beautiful original Patina paint! Any of our Patina builds you see are not painted to look that way. They are either all natural or we take them and buff out where it needs it to continue its already Patina look.

Most of the time we coat it with shiny clear coat, satin or matte. You would be amazed about 2 things: 1) That natural paint, will eat up that clear coat. On most of them, we are putting at least 8, if not 12 coats of clear! 2) As the clearcoat soaks into that paint and the sun beats it in, that Patina POPS! It comes to life!

Patinaflauge…?

Jesse’s personal Bronco that he has had for over 15 years is were “Patinaflauge” came from. It originally was painted teal, then a shade close to Brittany Blue. When the event “Super Celabration” expanded and did “WEST,” Jesse decided he was going to give his Bronco, named Azul, a fresh paint job before we left. During the process of sanding down the body….these colors started to shine through and it was BEAUTIFUL! Jesse decided he was going to sand it down and create a pattern to his liking. It was one of those “accidental” situation made into something GREAT! Mariah did not allow for it to be called “Patina” and when Jesse said “Patinaflauge” just made so much since!
